What impedance to use?

What impedance to use?

If i'm making a attenuator and am using any one of the calculators out there, what inpedance do I enter
for input and output when asked? This is for good old  2 channel home audio.

Typically between 10K and 100K depending on the system.  Tube preamps or SS?
