thanks, but I have tried every conceivable thing I can think of, including holding the remote and pointing it right at the BDA-1 at a very very short distance and still get no response...

The only thing I can think of is the remote has the wrong IR address. Please give Mike Pickett an email showing the video and see if he has some thoughts -mpicket@bryston.com
