V-2?

Hey Danny,
I was getting some ideas on the OB thread, which you contributed to(thanks!) and I decided to look around a bit more before proceeding. I'm glad I did. You've made some comments about baffle width which I will take to heart.

Also, the picture below and what you did with the woofer configuration has me very intrigued. Would you care to elaborate? I tried to find mention of it on your site but could find nothing. Or could you point me to the discussion if it has already taken place? Were you only trying to narrow the baffle overall? I've actually got all the wood cut and am ready to build your W-frame design that is on your site, but scaled up to accommodate the 15" alnico Pioneers that I would like to use. I think that a couple more cuts could result in what you have done here. But I would like to hear what caused this evolution from the W-frame and whether you believe it has resulted in an increase in performance.

I hope that this post is appropriate here in your area. If not I will delete and ask again on the OB forum.

Cheers,
Erik

I'm sure Danny will respond to answer your questions but I'm sure the woofer arrangement on the V-2 was created only to minimize the front of the speaker.

Here is the initial thread on it: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=71532.0

And yes the 12" woofers were turned sideways to keep the baffle width down.

This is a new kit actually. It includes everything minus the wood. That also includes amplification for the 12" woofers. If you haven't seen our new SA-1 amp, designed primarily for powering woofers in an open baffle, then be sure to check it out.

This complete kit is only $1,295.

These speakers sound REALLY good!
