I can't believe I am doing this, but I have decided to take another direction.  Up for sale are some well-cared for Salk HT2's.  I am the second owner.  I purchased them a year ago from another ACer.  Price is $2200 and I much prefer local pick up, although I do have all the original packaging material (which is in good shape).  Speakers themselves are in great condition sonically and cosmetically.  Serious parties are welcome to come by for audition.  I live in San Mateo, CA (bay area).  Thanks for looking.

Hi,

The ht2's are a great sounding speaker.  I have a pair and they easily spanked my nuforce s9's which cost me almost any extra $2000us.

Wow - great speakers in a beautiful finish at a great price!  If I were either in the states, thinking of a pair of SongTowers (which would cost the same with the ribbon tweeter) or less overloaded with speakers already these would be off the market already.  Someone who, like me, is willing to go for the "value proposition" of used/one generation old models is going to get a great deal here.

Well your only in Bermuda.  I shipped my ht2's to Australia and it wasn't that expensive.

Anyway, bump for a great pair of speakers that are being sold for a very realistic price.

Rocket, if only shipping were the only issue     I have to pay 25% import duty on everything I buy, making feeding an audio hobby involving testing differerent pieces of equipment very ..... how shall I say it .... "taxing"

Since this is used, could the seller take twenty five percent off the price, and therefore make the transaction about the same?  (Ignore that the math doesn't work out exactly.)  You'd still pay the full amount, but the transaction would appear to be for a lower amount.  (I hope I don't insult you by asking you to lie.)

I bought a used Jeff Rowland amplifier from someone who was overseas and had to pay a 10% duty, even though the JR is made in the U.S.  I never really understood that.

That is, I am also in the U.S., and the JR wasn't really being "imported" in the U.S., since it's made here.  I was simply buying it from someone who happened to be overseas.
