Classic Pop that Wowed You?

Okay we've all heard 'em, Classics on your tin can car radio. Then you spun the classic version on your Bryston gear and you were floored by the huge difference (for the better), in how the song actually sounds.

Sample starter list:
I Ran-Flock of Seagulls
Chain Gang- Pretenders
School- Supertramp
First Time I Saw Your Face- Roberta Flack
Crimson & Clover- Tommy James
Livin' La Vida Loca- Ricky Martin

Well remembering back to when I had the gear set up for the  very short 14 hours of use, I remember Supertramp sounding better than I could have imagined.

Dunno Mag, I was never able to match the immediacy of Tupac pumping through dual 15" Rockford Fosgate subs installed in lieu of my back seat.... the acoustics of the small space are unbeatable....

At home it sounds so flabby, I've tried really hard to improve the sound, I was really close at some point, but then my efforts were stopped cold by an eviction notice.

Hi Folks,

Speaking of 'Classic pop' if any of you are in the Toronto area and have Rogers Cable try tuning into the music oldies station at 719.  Its a 48K feed and through the BDA-1 I am hearing details and resolutions in some of my old favorites from the 50's and 60's that I never new existed!

Indeed, Mag.  Your original post asked for observations about how these songs sound over the Brystons as opposed to the tin can car radio.  I had Steve Winwood out the other evening for the first time in ages.  I played Higher Love at at least 2:00 on the knob.  There were diverse percussive sounds all over the room held up by that percussive sub melodious bass line all pulled together with the scintillating brass arragements and uplifting vocal arrangements.  Try that in a car!  I have to tell you, it was absolutely tits (that's one step above goosebumps) :thumb:.
