I'm trying to get a few stations from AOL/CBS Radio to play through my Apple TV.  I tried copying and pasting the address into a playlist, but no dice.

I'm guessing it doesn't display the entire web address, because every station has the same address.  They have a ton of great stations, some of them are all musuc by certain artists.

I'd get something like the HRT and connect my laptop to it, but that defeats the purpose of why I got the Apple TV in the first place - to not connect my computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  AOL/CBS Radio's main web address is

There doesn't seem to be a way to find a playable URL to open in iTunes.  Even if you go directly to that station's website, and click on streaming, live feed, or whatever, because they have contracted with AOL Radio to provide their streaming, the link is to AOL's proprietary web player.
 
Do you have Mac or Windows?  If you have a Mac, there is an application, AOL Radio 1.2, that is supposed to let you stream AOL radio stations (and I assume these affiliated CBS stations) through iTunes.

Thanks Steve.  I'm running Windows, so I guess I'm SOL.

Each station has a unique station id. The site uses javascript to play the station. Perhaps a Java or JavaScript expert can tell you if a unique URL can be created with the Meticalla station URL so you can access it directly.

There is a Windows software program called Airfoil, which allows you to stream many program's audio* through Air Tunes.

*I originally downloaded a demo version to use with Media Center, but it turns out Media Center is not supported by it.  I just tried it to stream Internet Explorer > AOL Radio Player to my Airport Express, and it worked fine.
 
It costs $25.00, but you can download a free demo.  The demo will overlay noise on the stream after 10 minutes.
 
You would have to control it with the Windows PC though, and wouldn't be able to control it with Apple TV, iPod Touch or iPhone.

Thanks again for the info, guys.  I'm looking for a simple - or should I say convenient - way to get a few of the stations on my Apple TV.  I'd like it controlled through the Apple TV's remote or my iPhone as remote.  There's an iPhone app for AOL/CBS radio.  Maybe it'll send it to the Apple TV somehow?  I had the app on my iPhone, but it kept stopping and buffering, so I deleted it.  I think the only way it'll work is to find out the specific addresses of the stations, if they have them at all.   

Once I get home after the holiday I'll give it a shot.

I tried running the AOL Radio app on my iPhone ang getting it to play through the Apple TV.  No dice.  I think the only way will be to use Airfoil or the like, or connecting my laptop to the stereo. 

It's not that important to me, and I bought the Apple TV so I wouldn't need the computer connected or even running for that matter.  It would have been nice, but no big deal. 

If it changes or there's another way I'd be interested.
