Clearaudio Concept
« on: 29 Mar 2010, 02:15 pm »
When I opened the shipping box today, which looked pristine, the two wires which hold the tonearm down (to the antiskate?) were hanging in midair.  One looked frayed on the end.  I ordered this table with the basic cartridge as it was sold in Europe--I was thinking of doing a wee review--with parameters set by the dealer.  Forget taping a penny to the headshell, I would have to glue a five-pound bag of sugar to get any downforce.  Has anyone else experienced a failure in the field?  Not an auspicious start.

Sounds  like a failure at the manufacturer's or dealer's place. I'd send it back for an exchange. We can wait for the review, if you can.

When I received mine it didn't have that problem. You paid good money for that TT. You should send it back and get one that is in new condition. Then give us a review. I am anxious to here your impressions and how they compare to mine. I am using a Denon DL-301 mk2 though......... 8)

Just bought a Concept - exactly the same problem!  Did you ever find a solution?  Mine will have to go back to the dealer tomorrow
