Good topic. I'm surprised at the lack of replies.
Off the top of my head, here are a few of mine:

- Ben Webster
- Amhad Jamal
- Wynton Marsalis (mostly the "Standard Time" releases)
- Count Basie "88 Basie Street"

Basically, anything without lyrics.
Lyrics "guide" my thoughts somewhere they don't need to be whereas instrumentals allow me to "float".

Sounds deep doesn't it.  :eyebrows:

The lack of replies is probably due to people going to their collection to see what they listen to for relaxing, then they played the son...

Much of the music on the ECM label tends to relax me. I often listen on my couch with a book. The combo of soft, acoustic music without vocals and getting into the story always results in my eyelids drooping.

Oh yeah, and Rap tends to relax my bowels.  :dunno: :slap:

One of the best albums I've listened to recently for relaxing and getting lost in the music, is Biosphere's live album, "Wireless - Live At The Arnolfini, Bristol". Great ambient music and a fantastic recording with tons of detail and flow.
