i have a very "easy" question (something obvious to 99.9% of people who frequent this board). anyway, i don't want to look like a complete fool so could somebody please PM or email me with an offer of assistance. more specifically, my question relates to jacks/plugs.

We do have a specific circle for asking "easy" questions as you so put it. It's intended use is meant for asking the most basic questions as everyone has to learn the basics somewhere. So we created a circle here for asking basic questions so people don't get hassled for not knowing something.

See The Starting Block if you care to ask such questions. No one will think you look like a fool if you're asking "easy" questions there.
