Here's a few teaser pics of my turntable I'm putting together, yeah I know it's about time. It's a Clearaudio champion level II platter and bearing. A Bix plinth which I seperated and then made hard maple spacers. I made the arm mount from aluminum and the arm post from maple. The arm is a rega RB250 with expressimo stub, counterweight and vta riser with a custom finger nut. I'm going to rewire the arm with cardas wire from cartridge clips to the phonostage. I plan to use the Bix motor pod but will be using a Maxon DC motor and battery powered motor controller from a group buy on diyaudio.
Peter at soundsmith called me today and the used Benz Glider I sent him to rebuild is trashed and can't be rebuilt sooooooooo I'm lookin for a nice cartridge to put on this thing. Do any of you guys have a nice cartridge your lookin to get rid of for under 400 bucks or recommend me one, less $ is better.
