I had an opportunity to try out a new zoom that I got for my birthday this past weekend.
I got a chance to take pictures of my god-daughter playing in a club soccer game. She is a goalie. The zoom really allowed me to compose the field of view I wanted at the same time allowing me to zoom in on her action. The telescoping zoom really allows quick changes and is perfect for shooting sports. It's plenty fast enough in daylight even when very cloudy (and drizzly). From the stands at the midfield, I could close in on her facial expressions. It's light enough to hold it in your hand and IS helps steadying hand held shots. A great lens.
