Now all you need is an SDS and some silk string to replace that rubber O ring driving the platter.

I have the SDS, it's below at the bottom of the rack.  Yes, the ring was not on at the moment...I will take pictures with it on tonight.  regarding the belt, you are right, i have to get some Spiderwire, 15lbs and make a belt as the rubber belt is no good for this platter, it tends to move up/down...

Yes. It is a little difficult to get the knot in the right place so your tension is correct (not too tight and not too loose). I would use some sewing thread first until you get it right, then measure and cut the silk thread. 

No special knot, just bring the 2 ends together and make a simple knot on the end (not a square knot, just a loop and through). You will need to give the platter a little push on start up.

It makes for a nice improvement in PRAT to my ears. Please let me know what you think once you try it.

i've been thinking recently that vpi should find a way to offer the rim drive for those of us who have the smaller motor/cut out plinths. as long as you're using their sds, i don't see why it wouldn't work. the only thing the black plastic pulley is good for is adjusting the speed which could be accomplished with the sds. doesn't seem like it would be too hard for them to do, but i guess that's why i'm on the sidelines and not in the business.

Well, I can see buying the single motor/flywheel and instead of the flywheel get the rim drive wheel instead, that would work, I would think...

i see you have the stainless/delrin clamp and the stainless weight. is one better than the other? i was browsing the vpi site the other day and noticed that they do offer the rim drive as an option for tnt, scout users. the upgrade is listed at $900. do keep us posted on your silk thread use and i might try it out later on my scoutmaster.

That platter looks FANTASTIC on the TNT   Awesome job, but do post your thoughts on the sound you are hearing.  I doubt there is any breaking in or anything of that sort with the new platter in place.  Everything should be sounding different the second you put it on etc.  Probably more of your ears and listening bias adjustment than any hardware "break in" per se.

Looking forward to what you find.  Again...looks amazing!
