Hello all,
I am a newbie here, so excuse my ignorance..
I have PS Audio's perfectwave DAC and CD transport currently hooked up to SS pre/amp. Connections are through XLR. The only RCA is between my HT receiver and the pre for HT bypass. My speakers are SALK HT3. I am looking to introduce a tube pre in this setup. However I find that most economical tube preamps support only single ended connections. The tube preamps that can support XLRs are quite expensive - at least in the 3-4k price range.
I have heard good things about Rogue Audio's Perseus, Dodd's and RedWine Audio's pre. Also considering CJ ET2, VTL 2.5 etc. ( I saw a few comments that modwright is more like SS.. so I am not considering it for now) I need the HT bypass to work flawlessly.
Wondering what will I lose by going single ended.. I have only 2 sources.. HT receiver (RCA) and the PS perfectwave DAC (connected by XLR- but it supports RCA also)
Thanks for your time.
