I have been looking at the Bugle and power supply for some time, but now I see there is a ripper which is a Bugle and power supply and DAC/ADC.  Can I use the Ripper as just a phono stage without the signal running through the DAC/ADC??

It looks to me the Ripper is a better bargain since it comes with a pre-cut and silkscreened chassis which I think would be the expensive part of the Bugle and power supply.

Am I missing something?

You can  use the Ripper as a DAC or a Phono stage. It has a switch for Digital / Analog. I just built one. Works just fine as a phono stage.
I have about $100 USD in parts above the kit price. Very happy with the results.
