The length of my arm is insufficient to enable me to access the power button from the comfort of my bed. To remedy this defect, my left toe has gradually evolved into a marvelously dexterous and varied appendage. I can, with one smooth motion of my leg, fire up the rig, flip over some cd's, and twirl over a glass of wine. Meanwhile, my feet have developed powerful muscles for better grip and a tough outer coat to protect against ad-hoc power surges....
One of the main objections I had with the soft start membrane was that much toe wiggling was required to zero in on the proper spot for firing up the amps. The square series' button is very toe friendly; there is a large surface contact area between toe and membrane, and the button makes a satisfying click, closing the feedback loop and triggering the toe withdrawal reflex. Now if Bryston would only fit some proper buttons onto that BCD-1...
