If you are looking for a high-end monitor you owe it to yourself to consider these. With their state-of-the-art tube amps and electrostatic speakers, Quad is one of the oldest and most respected names in the high fidelity industry. They hired Spendor, the designer or world-class dynamic speakers, to create a dynamic speaker that equaled the sound quality of their highly regarded electrostatic panels. Spendor created the original 11L which Quad sold for several years and which garnered much praise from the audiophile community. Meanwhile, Quad improved that speaker every way they could think of with the result being the Quad 11L2s. These are built to the highest standards inside and out. They even addressed issues like reflections from the driver baskets by creating an open, cast basket (see photo.) Quad makes everything in-house too. These gleam like jewels with their high gloss lacquer on Bird’s Eye Maple finish and they sound as spectacular as they look.

I’ve rate these an 8/10 because there is a tiny, popped bubble about the size of a rice grain in the lacquer on one speaker and a faintly dull area about the size of a thumb print (this can probably be polished out, but I haven‘t taken the time to do it) on the same speaker behind the grill. These imperfections are so insignificant they won’t photograph, but I want you to know exactly what you are buying.
These originally cost $800 for a pair and they are worth every penny of that. Because I’m trying to raise money for another project, I’m willing to let these go for $375 and I am firm on the price. Buyer pays shipping and I’ll absorb the PayPal fees. Shipping and insurance to the East coast is $39.95. I’ll refund any shipping fee that isn’t actually used to ship to your location.
