Hi,

DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF THE DAYTON AUDIO EMM-6 ELECTRET MIC SHOULD BE SET VERTICALLY (towards the ceiling) OR HOIZONTALLY (pointing towards the speaker?  Does anyone own one and have that info?

I've just bought a Dayton Audio EMM-6 Electret Measurement Mic.  It didn't come with a user's manual and I couldn't find one at Dayton Audio's website or Parts-Express' website (the place where I bought it).  They may not have an owner's manual, which is fine, but the most important thing to know about any measurement mic is whether you it should be oriented vertically (pointing to the ceiling) or horizontally (pointing at the speaker or straight forward if you're measuring the center point between the two speakers from where you listen.  This is crucial in getting accurate readings, yet I can't find this info anywhere.  I've read that some measurement mics are designed for vertical use and many others are designed for horizontal use.  I don't know what to do.

Please someone help if they know anything or a way to determine what the orientation of the mic should be?

Sincerely,
Wade
