Hi All - I posted here a while ago asking some advice about upgrading. Just wanted to let you know that my B100SST with built in DAC and GB1i's just arrived. Absolutely Amazing!  I'm loving every minute of this. Long Live Bryston!

Dude, I hate to break it to you, but if your name was Elizabeth, you'd be getting alot more welcomes :-) :-)

Chris -

Okay, Elizabeth got a lot of reaction.  But from the posts of hers that I have read (on other sites), she is a smart lady.  But Chris, you too are smart as heck.  After all, you've joined the Bryston club.

Welcome and happy listening.

Congratulations Chris!!

The B100 was the first piece from Bryston that I listened to and I've been hooked ever since.

Hi Noseyears - there are some skill testing questions required for acceptance to the crew :D

Welcome from Bryston

Hi Chris:

I've had the B100DA for close to five years now (paired with B&W speakers) and it continues to amaze me.  Let me assure you, it will just keep getting better.  It's a great piece of equipment from a great company.  Even when the integrated stopped working after a massive power surge went through our house last spring due to a lightning strike, Bryston repaired it free of charge.  I don't believe "acts of God" like this are typically covered under most warranties.  All I can say is Bryston is a class act.  Enjoy your new system!

Welcome Chris.

My only Bryston equipment is a 4B-ST, which I absolutely love.

'skill testing questions' ?  :o

nobody told me anything about 'skill testing questions'

all I thought you needed to know was how to spell 'Bryston' and point to whichever component you wanted at the dealer ...

welcome aboard, new members  :thumb:

OK First skill testing question:

You walk into a room to evaluate a stereo set up and there are 3 chairs:  - one chair by the wall on the right side of the room, one chair by the wall on the left side of the room and one chair about 10 feet back centred between the two speakers – which chair do you sit in?

Hi Dave,
Interesting this ligthing report you said.  I would like to know why this happen to your amp, as Iam over 50years old and never see this happen in my country.   Maybe a house is more prone to such accidents.

since i am new as well, i'll give the questions a shot too. just a suggestion, why not post them as polls? could be fun to see what the majority thinks...
i would start in the left chair, then move to the right one, and then the center one. in my opinion sound should be somewhere between good and excellent everywhere in the room...

I've heard of  similar stories from other Bryston customers.  I agree Bryston is a class act.

Its typically when they get the power back on that you will see huge power surges. Digital gear usually gets the brunt of it and toasts it. I have seen it happen.
