Hi,

Anyone have any experience with LinearX prouducts, and specifically the M31 measurement mic.  It sells for $150.  How do you think it compares with the Dayton EMM-6 which sells for just under $50.  Do you think you get what you pay for or do you think at this low end, I'm better off saving the $100 amd going with the Dayton?

Look forward to responses.

The only way to know for sure is to see a graph of the mic's response. In the mean time I'm sure you'll find this article interesting and useful:

Comparison of Ten Measuring Microphones

You can see that even a $40 Nady or $50 Behringer are very accurate, and very close to my DPA 4090 that cost 20 times more.

Ethans article is great.

I've had great luck with Jon at Naiant.  He will not calibrate the mics so if you're using REW, you can load the cal.  Very nice!
