Your friends car will loose 30% after they make payment and prior to delivery...........

Your Bryston will hold value for years.

Greetings,

Congratulations and welcome to the “Nut House,” I would also be very interested in your opinion of the 1.5 phono.

Be well...

Not to be negative, but your Bryston gear (and pretty much all new gear) will also lose ~30% when you bring it home and turn it on.

Look on the bright side, you will not have to worry about anyone backing into your Bryston gear in the Mall parking lot. :D

And you also bought something that is warrantied for 20 years and comes with great customer service.

You definitely can't say that about almost all other audio gear you bring home.

“'But I don’t want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
'Oh, you can’t help that,' said the Cat. 'We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.'
'How do you know I’m mad?' said Alice.
'You must be,” said the Cat. 'or you wouldn’t have come here.'”

There is definitely a bit of the "Looking Glass" here at AudioCircle.  Welcome.  It's a good place for information.

Congrats on your Bryston buy Elizabeth.   :thumb:  Are you the same Elizabeth who has posted regularly for the past few years on AudiogoN?

Welcome to the club Elizabeth. (Bryston's VP has already welcomed you here).

You are going to find that in addition to outstanding performance, in the unlikely event anything should go wrong, even many years down the road, that Bryston's after sale service is completely unmatched -- even for minor cosmetic issues, they stand behind their gear (on my 10 year old bryston preamp, some of the silk-screening was becoming easy to rub off -- so they replaced the front panel with a new one -- try to find any other manufacturer who will do that! There are many other people here who can report similar experiences with James and his crew. You just can't give your business to a more deserving outfit than Bryston.)

Your new setup is very similar to mine (I have a new 4B SST2, and older BP25 and a BDA-1) It sounds amazing. You have many years of enjoyment to look forward to.

I suspect it is because the high end audio aficionados tend to be almost exclusively male. She is an outlier, and therefore interesting. I hope Elizabeth is not scared off by us -- despite the obvious signs of mental instability displayed by audiophiles, we are not that far gone -- we keep it together enough to have the financial resources to feed our habit :-)
