Gavin - If I didn't know better, I would say you don't think much of Albert's mod to his own crossover (based on zero knowledge of the upgrade, I might add.).  Nothing about it was at ALL arbitrary. I tried to explain what we did for the benefit of other 7 owners here and those who might be interested, and I get attitude?  Its sure comforting to be surrounded by so many "experts".  My money's on Albert every time. :icon_lol:

I first heard about Duelund caps from Victor Sierra who uses ALE drivers for his horns. While visiting his house he said he was going to try them and that they were on their way. Jentzens were installed during our listening session. I looked up the prices and I was floored. Prices for x-over value caps are anywhere between 3,000 and 6,500 per PIECE! Then again his ALE drivers are anywhere from 10,000 to 35,000 per piece so it isn't like putting the caps on a 39.99 special from Madisound.

If we were to count caps in say a VR-4 SR and use V-cap teflons and OIMPs only the price of the speaker would balloon to the vicinity of 40 grand. Rumor has it that one person actually had this done to his Mk.1s and his surname starts with V. By the way, it isn't Albert ;)

Oh heck. It isn't a secret anyway.... have a look  :thumb:

Attitude?  Where did I claim any expertise regarding crossovers, or even electronics for that matter?  Reread my post big fella.  If you want to solder caps across your caps...and if Albert says that's a significant upgrade of which I know "zero about", he would certainly be the man to know.  And yes, that changes the impedance at that point..which apparently is a good thing.  I suppose if a guy wanted to solder coat hangers across his caps and it opened the heavens, then by all means he should do it.  My post was not intended in any way to chastise your for what you have done to your 7s.  Comprende?

At least he didn't have to pay retail.
