JBL LE8T, Motorola Golden voice 3W on OB, Multiple speaker sets

Hello all --
This is my first post on this site. I am looking at building the OB's that are shown on the Betsy speaker site (see
http://wildburroaudio.com/projects.php
). However -- nothing set in stone yet -- so please set me straight if need be.
I have a pair of JBL LE8Ts I would like to try - does anyone have experience with this speaker on an OB??
I also have a 60s vintage Motorola Golden Voice console biamped tube amp. It is a 3-way speaker set with a separately-driven, single, 10in "sub-woofer". Does any one have experience with these on an OB? When you have a single sub-woofer like this, should it be boxed separately and centered? (I presume so).
Also, would there be major harm in mounting both *sets* of speakers on the same baffle. I really enjoy mixing and matching speakers with whatever tube amp I am building at the moment. This is one reason I am considering the Betsy OBs - they would seem to have ample room for such madness.
I am a newbie, so let me have it <grin>.

Welcome to the OB forum, and AC in general!
I have not heard any of the specifics that you reference, but have had good feedback from folks about the wild burro kit.
No reason not to put multiple drivers in one baffle, for experimentation. I assume you would power either one set or the other.
I would mount the sub in the middle, have done that in the past myself.
Sounded better with a top on it, as per below.

I think the LE8T is a beautiful speaker and sounds great in a ported box even without a tweeter. I imagine it could work well in an infinite baffle (the wall!) but have not heard it in an open baffle.
I am almost certain it would require supplementation in the bass in OB, but the quality of this driver is out of proportion, probably, to the 10" "sub" you mentioned. I would be looking at an 18" Goldwood in an H baffle or a couple of good OB 15s as discussed in other threads here.

Looking at the specs on that speaker it would seem OB is not out of the question. Nice driver!
Expect limited output, but not severely in a normal sized room. In a small room you'll have no issues unless you don't like OB in small rooms. You'll definitely need to augment that bass in OB. Some of those Goldwoods or Eminence alphas would probably do the trick.

Just so you know that's not exactly a great baffle to judge anything on--and yes I know it's famous.

here's some more info:
http://www.audiodesignguide.com/full/le8th.html
and post #3 here:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/multi-way/38285-new-jbl-le8t-h.html
has a page with enclosure dimensions
It can be hard to read - here are the pertinent details:
"...Measured response of a typical production unit, including all
peaks and dips, does not deviate more than 2 dB from the above curve.
The dashed curve represents the response of the loudspeaker in a
typical application, mounted in a 85 L (3 cu ft) enclosure with a 50 cm2
(7.75 sq in) port, 10 cm (4 in) long, tuning the enclosure to 35 Hz..."

Great info golks -- thk much -- Can you help me understand:
Recommended Enclosure Volume: 20-115 L (3/4 4 ft3)
Is the 20-115 L a standard enclosure?? I saw the port dimensions thats cool. Not user I undersand the rest of the enclosure info you posted.
What type of tweeter would you recommend (or would you). I have some cheapo piezos, but after that I donno. These any good?

or would something like this be mo beddah:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230436396719&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
I don't know squat about cross-overs but am here to learn. Up to now I have been building guitar amps -- but now I am moving on to hifi.
Also should mention that the JBLs need surrounds -- I would prefer to do them myself (if is a hobby after all) unless you would argue against it -- I am good with my hands.

the first link in post 3 referred to above gives details for 1 and 3 cu ft enclosures. 2 3/4" square port will give the right cross section area as will many other configurations.
