I received an e-mail from Space Tech Labs yesterday about their QA preamps. Their entry model starts at $350US. I've read very favourable reviews on audiogon and audioasylum about their preamps. I provided Space Tech a list of preamps I'm considering with my current set-up, the list included:
1. Eastern Electric Mini Max
2. Dodd Audio preamp
3. FT Audio Little Wonder
4. Morrison ELAD
5. Ray Samuel's Emmeline CA-2
My current set-up is: Carver Pro ZR-1600 amplifier , Scott Nixon Tube DAC/3XAC, Sony DVP-S7700 CD Transport, Stereovox HDXV Digital cable, Wasatch Cableworks RCA-104U Int. & LC-540 Biwire spkr. cable, and Magnapan MG1.6QR speakers.
Space Tech felt that their entry $350 preamp would provide better warmth, openess, definition, and dynamics than any of the preamps mentioned above. I think I'm going to give this preamp a try. Does anyone have any input.
