mini and screen question
« on: 10 Feb 2010, 04:46 pm »
i know this is not really an audio question, but why after say 10min my  screen saver stops and it seems that my Dell 18.5 screen slips its own sort of screen saver on which ready "no vga cable".
i have a mini connected to a dell screen with minidvi to vga adapter.

why does this happen, i would like to have my screen saver on 24/7 rather then the boring image that my screen seems to generate?

That is a power saving feature that reduces power consumption from 16W to 1W on your particular monitor.  This is normally controlled by the energy saving software settings in the computer's operating system.

On the Mac OS, go into System Preferences and choose Energy Saver under the Hardware section.  Under Sleep Options you can set the Display's sleep setting to 'Never' with the slider.

This should work, but there's no guarantee that every monitor will respond to this setting.
