MENSA and inline Bybee FS
« on: 26 Jan 2004, 04:57 am »
FYI, to pay for the Trivista DAC, I am putting my MENSA up for sale. I do want till this weekend to perform a final A/B, but after that, it can be shipped. Unit is full MENSA, plus Tube O lator, plus bolder power supply. I also have a Bybee RCA digital inline filter I will sell separately or package with the MENSA. Total system retail (including cost of DIO and Bybee) was $800, get the MENSA for $400 or with the Bybee for $500. Unit is mint and less than a year old with the MENSA upgrades.

BTW, I received tons of offers, so those of you who may choose to part with your MENSA should feel good that you can still get back a good part of your investment.

Stay tuned for my review of the MENSA v. the  Trivista. I listened during an extended comparison last night, and while the Trivista is not entirely broken in, I feel comfortable offering a review. It was one of the harder comparisons I have done, since both units are fundamentally very musical, but they differ greatly in what they deliver (and what they cost).

I'll also provide one very interesting observation of the Bybee filter, which produced dramatically different results in each system.
