Shuguang Treasure tubes - feedback wanted

Grant Fidelity as the distributor for Shuguang Treasure 'black bottle' tubes, will always have our ears open for audiophiles opinion.

If you have a tube amp using any of the Treasure tube models (300B, KT88, KT66, 6CA7(EL34), 6SN7, 2A3), have a pair of well trained audiophile ears, can type and post listening impressions to audio forums, we would like to hear from you!

This is an opportunity for you to try out some new production, one of the best tubes on the market today with literally no risk. If you don't like them after trying, send them back to us to get your money back. All you could lose is a small shipping fee.

As an event participant, you will receive our VIP Gold membership treatment - 25% off MSRP on Grade A tubes. $20 flat rate shipping anywhere in North America. 30 days return privilege with no re-stocking fee. All we want is your truthful opinion of how these tubes sound in your system. Good or bad, we want to hear it all - truth and nothing but truth. We are not offering discount to buy your positive feedback. Please use this opportunity to tell us how these tubes truly are and how they compare to what you have been using.

All Treasure tubes are listed on this link: http://grantfidelity.com/site/catalog/90/shuguang_treasure_series

All amp makes are welcome - popular well known brands such as McIntosh, Cary Audio or exotic brands that we don't know it actually exists yet. As long as you are sure that they take these tubes without problem (all Treasure tubes are to the RCA equivalent specs), we would like to hear from you about how these Treasure tubes sound in the amp.

If there are many participants from the same model amp owners, we will give priority to the early sign-on participants.

We hope the event will help us to answer many audiophiles' questions - "how will they sound in my amp?" Now you can tell your fellow tube amp owners how they sound from your first hand experience. We all know that we have to take a grain of salt from pro reviews, now it's your turn to speak up on behalf of all consumers, unbiased at all.

If you would like to participate the event, please:

1) reply this thread by listing your amp model and how many Treasure tubes you need to participate the event;

2) make sure your forum ID has a valid email linked so that we can send you an invoice with VIP gold membership discount to make payment and start the trial.

3)You have 30 days from the day you receive the tubes to decide if you wish to keep them or not, and you must publish your listening impressions on the forum - we don't mind it's good or bad, as long as it is truth.

Many ModWright transporter owners are happy with their findings with the Treasure CV181-Z's. We hope tube amp owners can have their own findings through the event too.

Happy listening.

Hi Rachel,

I would love to try a pair of the CV-181s in my Tektron 2a3/45 Reference Integrated.  I already am breaking in a pair of the 2a3zs in this amp and except for the type 83 mercury vapor rectifier, the CV-181s will make it an all Treasure tubes amp.  BTW, the amp would work with genuine CV-181 spec tubes as well,  and I'm using a couple flavors of 6h8cs and some classic American 6sn7s in it now.

Thanks,

Jim

P.S. -- Will there ever be any Treasure 45s, el84s, or common rectifier tubes?

I have not heard the Treasure tubes yet but have spoken to a few who claim they are well worth the investment. When the Bella 88 single ended amp is done and ready for our showroom, the KT88's will be going in shortly after we get it burned in.

I have heard nothing but great feedback about thhese tubes from those who's ears and opinions I trust.

price is 25% off MSRP on grade A tubes only for the event participant. shipping is extra - usually $20/box. multiple pairs will be combined for discount in shipping. KT88/EL34 come in quads in one box, 2A3, 300B, CV181 come in pairs in one box.

The event will close for participants by Feb 20th, 2010.

you can email me through our website about what tubes you need then I can have price worked out with the discount plus shipping.

Please use our website to contact me - I don't monitor my PM often enough here :)

Thanks,
Rachel

As far as I know, there is no definite plan yet. Shuguang needs to work out their distribution method worldwide. Plus Shuguang is a state-owned entity who may not always put audiophile needs ahead of their other priorities. It's very challenging to work with a supplier in this context but I will keep providing feedback to them until they do listen and act on the demand :)

Hi Rachel. I for one, am tired of just reading about these tubes (Treasure 300B-Z's). I'll be more than happy to post my impressions. I have Coincident Frankenstein MK II's, and have enjoyed Sophia Carbons; Sophia Mesh Plates; KR Balloons; Emission Labs standards, and am presently into a pair of TJ Mesh Plates at about the 60 hour mark, so I have a definite opinion as to how a tube should present the music; and will pull no punches!
