« on: 3 Feb 2010, 03:29 am »
I have a pair of Mission Model 70 speakers with rotted foam a quick seach on the net and Ebay
turned up nothing. I've done a couple pair of refoams in the past but cannot find a kit for these
speakers. Some might say get rid of them but they a certain value any help in locating a kit would
be appreciated,Thanks in advance

Bill,

While this gentleman doesn't offer foam surround kits, he *might* be able to do the job for you.  It couldn't hurt to ask him.  Here's a link to his website: http://www.classicloudspeakerservices.com/about.html.  (Note: I have no connection with him, nor do I have any direct experience regarding his work.)

     Hope this helps.

While I don't have the surrounds I do have a set of woofers/tweets/crossovers from the 70 series, all in great shape that I will let go cheap   :D

You may inquire with these guys, they may be able to sell the materials to you.  They did a good job on some old AR 5's for me years ago.

Here's another possible source   http://www.speakerlab.com/speakerRepair.html

I had them redo both my original Advent woofers, and the woofers in my Dahlquist monitors. They've been around here for 20+ years or so, and have pretty much everything. Good luck  :thumb:

Mission had at least two versions of the Model 70. My very first speaker was the first version with glued fabric (no grilles--drivers accessible from rear? dunno, didnt think about it then). Then a Mk II came out late 80s. Which version are yours Bill?

Guys,

I don't mean to "play 'cop' here," but please keep forum rules in mind.   An offer to buy or sell components  should either be handled at the "Trading Post Circle" or by using Private Messages  or e-mails.  I realize that this is an offer to help a fellow enthusiast, but anytime money will be changing hands in such a transaction, it turns the original post into an "ad."

Let's keep the "commercial posts" where they belong.

Just a "courtesy reminder" from your "Friendly Neighborhood Facilitator."
