I like Neil Diamond, especially the new stuff (wife and I had our wedding song to a Neil Diamond song). I also like Tom Jones and Barry Manilow and John Denver.

I have a few...

Boney M - Rasputin - this was a song that we played when I lived in Taiwan - we had the friggin lyrics posted on the wall, including all 36 "Heys" the song opens with - I lived with some crazy New Zealanders, and they were crazy for the song - I am easy to convince when pretty girls demand I spin a tune...

More Boney M - Night Flight to Venus - wish I owned this song - it defines early music passion for me - a friend of mine's older brother had that LP, and I just gravitated to that song when I was 8 or 9 (in '78 or '79).

There is an entire genre I call dirtbag rock that I LOVE - it is just a collection of bad 70's/80's rock/pop that many are glad is gone, but I love to dig out - perfect cottage music - Lynyrd Skynyrd, Boston, Triumph, certain ACDC, etc.

"Brick House" by Parliament - my all time favourite dance song - I have done absolutely ridiculous things to that song on many dance floors internationally - I cannot resist the siren song...

I'm probably the opposite of many, I was introduced to music through Tommy Roe, The American Breed, Tommy James & the Shondells, etc. - I've always had a healthy respect for bubblegum & pop. I gave Jazz a try, since that is where it seemed my musical tastes should progress as I matured, but it just doesn't connect with me.

For me probably the Benny Goodman 1938 Carnegie Hall Jazz concert is a guilty pleasure, along with some Miles Davis and Al DiMeola records.

Sadly, to my ear this quote from Tony Wilson rings true. "Jazz is the last refuge of the untalented. Jazz musicians enjoy themselves more than anyone listening to them does."

I'm surprised to see Eminem and Linkin Park mentioned. I love just about all of Eminem's music and LP has two albums I've loved (their first album and the DVD-Audio remix album)...and Meteora wasn't too bad. The last one I really didn't get into.

For my most embarrassing album, it'd have to be Will Smith's Greatest Hits...I purchased it when my friend played his a long time ago (I was probably 20 at the time). The song Miami actually turned out to be quite useful in demoing music at a few audio places. I only like a few songs on there, but I wish You Saw My Blinker (or whatever its called) was put on...I remember when I was a little kid laughing at the whole song while it played on the radio.

It's easy to buy them when they are used CDs - Macarena was $1
