FS: Modwright LS36.5 Preamp -> SOLD
« on: 27 Jan 2010, 08:47 pm »
EDIT -  Sold Feb 9th, pending receipt of payment.

I am reluctantly putting my Modwright LS36.5 preamp up for sale.

My particular unit does not exactly match the currently available model.

This unit was originally purchased in January 2007 just prior to the way cool full aluminum machined louvered chassis.  The Front faceplate is the standard LS36.5 aluminum machined peice.  The balance of the chassis is the 9.0 preamp sheetmetal box.  (I bought this at the time the current 36.5 aluminum chassis box louvered panels were just being finalized and manufactured).  I hope to have pictures posted later tonight.

In 2008 the internals and caps were updated and a toggle/floating ground switch was installed on the back panel.  Functionally, my unit has one set of XLR balanced outputs, but no XLR input.  The balance of inputs and outputs are the standard RCA design.

It comes with the custom MWI remote control and orginal shipping box.

I have the stock tube compliment and upgraded pair of 6h30 Russian Super Tubes ($200) and a Mullard Blackburn GZ34 black base ($125) rectifier tube.  They are highly recommended and make a very nice audible improvement.

Condition is 8/10 grading scale (perfect front with a few neglible scruffs around chassis)
Price with upgraded tube set $2,500/obo
Price with stock oem tube set $2,300/obo
Cash/Check perferred.  Ppal ok with +3%.

As most people who frequent here know, Dan Wright is one of the stellar stars in our audiophile world and always offers the best customer service and support if ever the need arises.  I've used his products for ~10+ years now and he is the best.  :thumb:
