Chassis, enclosures, & project boxes
« on: 25 Jan 2010, 01:02 pm »
Fellow DIYers,

Please list your source for enclosures.  I seem to only come up with the usual suspects (Hammond & Front Panel Express) from the usual suppliers (Mouser, Digi-Key, etc.)

I'm looking for something a little nicer with a thicker front panel and possibly rack handles.  Where do the smaller production manufacturers get theirs?

Any help would be appreciated!

TIA,
JakeJ

Thanks, Nightshade,

It's a start, but really there ought to be dozens of suppliers.  For instance this chassis used by member wardsweb:

There must be more.

I've seen these recommended elsewhere:

Please note the company is located in Taiwan.

Just remember- the fancier, the pricier. Par Metal has .06" aluminum enclosures that are vibration resistant. (They go "thunk" when tapped instead of, "Ring!")

Wardsweb look like the ones frm Thailand.  Shipping is steep.  There is also that Italian brand but again shipping will nail ya.  Fnally heqtec?  Or smething like that from Belgium look badass.   I can add links when I am not on my phone but google is your friend.

Thank you, guys.  Looks like I just haven't dug deep enough.

More research.
