Thanks guys, I do feel they turned out very well and I'm more than happy with the look and sound of these. They are truely a labor of love. If any of you are ever in and around San Antonio, shoot me a PM and I'll have you over for a listen.

Very, VERY nice work.  Are you bringing these up to AKfest?   :P

I would need a freight truck, so I don't think so.

They look very nice. If they sound as good as they look, I'd say your done as far as speakers go for a very long time.

Stunning job all around. Did you do your own finish work on the veneer? What finish did you use.
 Very impressive.

 Very impressive.

I used raw veneer and heat lock glue to afix it. A lot of sanding and then many coats of Deft high gloss lacquer. I'm waiting a month or so before buffing it out with some 3M Perfect-It.

Do you want to sell them?
I'd rather look at them then just about anything else. To hear them would surely be a treat. Job well done!Really, they are gorgeous!

I guess I have to chime in with the "wow" comments.  Those do look fantastic!  I wish I had had the courage to try veneering my Abbeys using that (not sure if it would have gone around the 1" radius corners, though)...

Have you had time to do any measurements (I suspect so, given the lengthy construction and optimization period)?  For example, how is the polar response?  Are they playing alone in the room, or do you have a sub to assist in the LF domain?

Here is a closeup of one. Altec 511B horn fitted with an Altec 802-8G driver, JBL 077 tweeter and JBL 2235H woofer.

Beautiful.
