For those of us not yet persuaded that we need to change our preamp, is this a good way to test the waters?

I got the serial number from the seller as 052396, which means it's over 13 years old...

This should still be a very nice preamplifier.  They were very durable and musical.

The turn-on pop has been eliminated in subsequent models with a small time delay circuit that can be added to this unit for $125.  Its most labor time.
