Wondering about phono EQ implementation
« on: 19 Jan 2010, 04:02 pm »
I was wondering if the following is possible.  Can I use a Piccolo with the EQ between it and a standard low noise preamp that I built?  The gain of the pre is 26db so I could get up to 52db, then run that into a normal pre.  How would I determine the components for the EQ.  I have read the posts on it here and on DiyAudio and I still am confused.  I am not ready to build, just wondering if it is possible.  The pre is an all tube 6H30 design.

Thanks

John

You could try, but it might not work too well.  One place to do EQ calculations is at:

The other is at KABusa.

Jim,

The more I look at it the harder it looks to get it right without doing many prototypes.  I doubt I will try.

Thanks
