I bought a Samsung LN46B630 yesterday. What should I get for a surge protector/power conditioner? How important is it to have a port for the cable TV coax?

I have a Furman Elite-15PF that i have connected to a panasonic v series plasma. It has all of the connections you'll need. A nasty surge took out my cable box (which i did not connect to the Furman, don't ask) all other equipment was fine.

Check out Tripplite Isobars. Great bang for the buck. Inexpensive St. prices & best of all - they work. No audiophile cachet, but so what.

Contact Danny at GR Research and have him send you either a MajikBUSS ($595) or a UberBUSS ($995) on a 30 day demo. If you don't keep it, all you owe will be shipping charges. I was absolutely blown away by the difference it made in my system. Here is the thread http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=68006.80

There are lots of comments from some very happy owners of either the MB or UB.

While the Buss's will do wonders for both your video picture and for audio, it is not a surge protector, just so you'll know. I just lost my DirecTv HD DVR receiver last week in a power outage and my power goes thru a Uberbuss and a BPT balanced power conditioner. But I have never had a surge protector and won't be getting one anytime soon, my choice.

I have everything except my amp plugged into a Panamax 5410 Pro. Unlike satfrat I can't afford to zap all my electronics with surges. Here in Tucson we can get daily spikes and mini-outages from July-September during the monsoon season and a surge suppressor is a necessity.
