Is DIO's hot output frying my input tubes?
« on: 22 Jan 2004, 06:46 am »
Hi all, can someone confirm whether the 7v output (or even the ~4v output of my smART) would drastically shorten the life of my 6922/7308 tubes?  I am getting leakage shorts from several of my tubes.  May be coincidence, but I just wonder...

I ran a stock dio through a MF Xcanv2 for a couple months (pfffft) there go two amperex PQ 7308's.  My home stereo has gone through the third input tube in my linestage buffer in I think the past year and a half.  Too much wear, if you ask me.  I may have to put the cap mod into my cables or go back to cheap tubes...

Thanks!

It seems unlikely... I would do two things: 1 measure your wall voltage and 2 measure for DC voltage on the DIO output.
