Any suggestions on a good software to convert flac to Apple lossless?

I will buck up and pay for software if it works good. The freeware I got left my files sounding warbly, etc.

Great program, They are always improving it. Will convert 1 song per processing core (So if you have 8 processors thats 8 songs converted simultaneous) and add those songs to your itunes library. Great Workflow.

sorry to ask, but anyone know freeware to convert mp4 or m4a files to mp3 or format that can be played thru PS3? my ps3 sees the files in wmp library but they come up as unrecognized files.

why change to AAC? I've found it to be a compressed lossy format that sounds at besst 'flat'. I understand there are supposed to be ways to make it 'decompress' properly but why even go there?  just curious....

I think he means ALAC and not AAC.

I use MAX both to rip CDs to FLAC and convert from one format to another.  There were not a lot of options around (for FLAC on a Mac) back when I started ripping, but it seems that there are a few more to choose from these days.  I haven't had any problems with MAX, in fact it has performed quite admirably and I have never felt the need to try anything else.
