How to multiplex preamps?
« on: 10 Jan 2010, 06:26 am »
Hi All.
Pardon me if this isn't the right forum for this and please redirect me if so.
My problem is that I've to switch between 2 preamps - stereo and multichannel.
I've a custom-built stereo tube preamp and NuForce AVP16. The tube preamp
does not have a HT bypass. I've 5-channel amp. Is there some kind of
switcher I could use to have both preamps connect to and control which one
connects to the amp at any time? Kinda like a speaker selector - only it is
going to be between the preamps and the amp. Can a speaker selector do this
job? Some Zektor switcher?
Thanks!

One product that seems to fit the bill is SpeakerCraft LL-One:

Check out the owner manual. That has a wiring diagram.

Cheers!
