Vista Audio Phono-1

After doing lots of excellent reviews reading on this phono preamp, I've decided to purchase one.
Boris, the Vista Audio engineer, was so helpful and answering all my questions. On top of which, he gave me a discount on the pre also.

Toobluvr, i have read your raves about this pre. I trust your taste, and pretty excited about this pre. Thx.

It's clean, it's quiet, it's a bargain - if you like tubes and their elusive qualities, this phono might not be for you. It simply stays on the side line without tring to hard to influance your "game".

I am having my piece converted to run on batteries.
Not sure if it is going to improve the sound Q or not but hey! What if it does?

My preference leans heavily to tubes and I have no trouble whatsoever in listening to the Vista.

I also have a Wright WPP 200 phono section on hand (borrowed).  In general this is a highly regarded piece.  Suffice it to say I spend as much time listening to the Vista as I do the Wright.  Conclude from this what you wish.

I have also owned several other very nice all tube phono sections from Melos, JuicyMusic, AirTight and Joule.  Again, the Vista is not embarrassed by any of them.

Quite the contrary.  Despite being priced much lower than these units, the  Vista hangs with them all in terms of providing a satisfying listening experience.

Enjoy the Vista and don't worry about it.  I think you need to spend much more to noticeably exceed its performance.

Got the VA hooked up to the PS8750 right now....WOW!!!! WOW!!! I'm speechless.
I'm thinking of custom ordering from Boris to have a custom box made for me with 4 phono inputs. Each input will support MM, loMC, hiMC, etc...(my choice). Boris said it is doable, and of course he will have juice up the power with a new circuitboard, but it is doable. I am gonna listen to this VA phono-1 for awhile before i can push the button on this custom box.
