WHAT A SHOW! SIGHT, SOUND & seeing Chick, Al, Stanley and Lenny do their chops this close up in a must see if you like some of the finest musicians in the world!

I saw this concert in 2009 but to see them this close really makes you appreciate them even more.
I had a few friends over to watch this for he first time last night. If you want to test the full extent of a system, put this DVD on! It sounded so good, better then live! Comments that were being made were,  "I'm sure your snow is of your roof by now" and "I bet the ground around you home has no snow on it, it must be all melted" and "you might want to go out and see if you have any stucco left on the outside of your house" and "man, you can place every instrument and hear every note played"!

This is a very well recorded DVD, from the snap of Lenny's snare or floor tom, to the very light touch of Chick on the grand piano, to the major hard hitting Stanley on the standup or electric bass to the lighting speed of Al on either electric or acoustic guitar, wow, it is something to see and hear!
I put my system through it quarterly ballistic cleansing and it took all I gave it!  This is a testament to AVA  and ACI again! I know I don't have the latest AVA gear, but what I have can still deliver in a very big way. Frank, if you need a test guy, I AM your man! I will say the same for ACI, (but no more ACI)

I know I maybe should have put this in the AVA thread, but all I get there is I shouldn't do this or I should do that. This is a combination review, and if Frank knows I took out the measly 3 amp fuses (blew long ago), then went to 4 (blew long ago),then went to 5 (never blew but I just don't like the thought of all the sound going through that little itsy bitsy wire) in my 350 and now I have 30 amp (no fuse) he will get into,  if you are cranking at this volume you are putting this many watts into your speakers, and ...................! I know Frank, but it all holds up and sounds fantastic! Just say, glad you are liking my equipment and thanks for the complements!

I also have a new listing position and that is not sitting on the couch. I now move my couch out about 4 feet from the back wall and now we stand behind it or sit on bar stools. First of all, I and a couple of my friends like to stand when listening to music. We can move and grove easier. Also my system sounds the best standing above my speakers. The room is way bigger and the sound is wider, higher and deeper!
I have thought of a couch riser, but the will not meet the WFA (wife factor approval)! I know some people on AC have there couch on a riser.

I have to believe that if you do not have at least one sub woofer, you are missing a lot. There are so many low, and I mean low notes played by Stanley, Chick and Lenny, that they would never be heard, or I should say felt without a sub. My floor felt like it was waving! Thanks Mike (ACI) for these Maestros and Panorama's. What great speakers!

Anyway, if you want a super system test disc, get Return To Forever "Live at Montreux" DVD but I am warning you, be careful!

Happy New Year!
P.S. My system  also sounds great on low volume!

I bought this too as soon as I saw it. Watched it w/ my brother who went out and bought the BluRay version which I am borrowing now and watching on my new PS3.

Friggin awesome sound and visuals.  Yes the tom-tom sound, esp the low floor toms is great.

The acoustic set is fabulous.

What else to say?

If you are a fan check this one out!

I have this album downloaded on hard drive,,, it cries more volume.   No doubt video and DD would kick major butt in a good home theater system.  8)

Rob, did you watch the bonus tracks? The bonus tracks are almost even better then the full concert, especially the very last track "Duel Of The Jester & The Tyrant"! Kicks arse!

Be warned, :nono: if your system has any weak links, this DVD will find them!

yep, I loved it too.   Just yesterday my wife asked me when was I going to be finished watching it ( for the 3rd day in a row )

Stanley's solo is different on the bonus one.   Seems a little more playful.
I got to thinkin' I need to move my oppo blue ray player into my better sounding 2channel room for this recording.
