Character of the older T8 versus the 6N1P iteration

Has anyone compared the character of the two versions?
I have a T8 that was an upgrade from a Super Pas3.  It does many things well.

The problem (there's always a problem) is that I have a homebrew Grounded Grid preamp that has higher resolution.  I would like to tweak the T8 for more feedback to reduce the midrange response.

Anyone else try to modify this design?
Anyone willing to share a schematic?

Since things are so quiet around here today (now click the cricket link) I just re-read this thread and thought "I wonder what tubes he's using in his T8? Mine with the Mullard and Telefunken sounds awesome." Perhaps some different valves could address your too forward midrange. Although this symptom usually has more to do with bass management due to lack of room treatment.
