Ideas for obtaining a motor.....
« on: 7 Jan 2010, 06:32 am »
Anyone know where I cane get a good standalone motor for a turntable, that won't break the bank. Right now, I just want to b able to listen to my records, so I'm not in the market for an expensive VPI motor or the like. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I was thinking of getting this one, but I heard the quality is a bit below average. I might do it anyway as the only other option I can find is the DIY Hi-Fi Supply motor, which is three times the price.

Origin Live should have a nice DC motor for about $400.

One of my tt buddies purchsed one of these. It looks great, but only ran for 3 hrs before it started to get noisy.
He is trying to resolve the return issue as I write this.
He has also purchased the 400$ origin live and it has functioned w/o problem. We are trying to find a empire/pabst replacement...

Something like this?

Shipping is a little steep $$
