3B-ST: Fuse Blown - Speaker cords shorted
« on: 7 Jan 2010, 04:25 am »
Hello Everyone,

I am writing with regarding my Bryston made 3B-ST amplifier. Due to an accidental contact between speakers spades connected to the (left) red and black posts, my left channel is not functioning (the left led on the front panel is off as well). I opened the external fuse box and found that the left fuse had blown. Replacing the blown fuse with the working fuse from the right channel did not however correct the problem. It ended up blowing out the (now) left fuse again. I assume that is a familiar issue and am writing to ask if there is there a home fix for this or if I need to send it to a repair center for service?

Also, the amplifier is actually a Lexicon badged (212) amplifier (Date Stamp 9822). Is this covered by Bryston Warranty? If not, would Bryston accept the amplifier for service at cost anyway?

Yes it is a 5 year warranty on the Lexicon and no problem fixing it for you.

Thanks everyone for responding. I have sent my amp into Bryston in Vermont for repairs. Can't wait to get it back. Thanks again.
