......Local Pick up in Washington DC 20017 - Cash on audition - $200.00

These are the Original Large Advents with real wood veneer and masonite (12" basket with 10") woofer. They sound Fantastic with vinyl.

They look and sound great. Refoamed 2 years ago and just REFINISHED....9 out of 10 condition....no scratches or stains. Beautiful.

Cabinets after refinishing coated with Watco Danish Oil finish.

These are as nice a pair as you will ever find.

Would be a great addition for a Classic Tube setup for vinyl.

Tilt back wood speaker stands $15.00 with purchase.

Nice speakers for someone interested in fine vintage audio. I recently heard these at a client's home, powered by a meager Technics receiver and was completely caught off guard at the sound stage and "special twinkle" they posses. Right up there with the Dynaco A25XL or some of the best KLHs.

That's a beautiful pair of Advents. You know, one of the best free mods on that speaker is to CAREFULLY remove the metal screen from the tweeter. Sounds much, much better without it.

Of course, I live in So Cal. so shipping on these would be prohibitive. If you are on the east coast I strongly urge you to pick these up. You can't come close for $200.00 And don't get me started on stacked Advents with a Phase Linear 700B power amp. Yum!

Wow!  Those are gorgeous and they bring back great memories.  Everything looks original, too.

Look great.  My first hi-fi speakers but after 15+ years, too many dorm parties and way too many moves they had to move on.

One question-will tubes power these?  As I remember they were pretty inefficient.  I was powering them with a Dynaco 120 watt amp.

Bump for a fellow Advent owner  :thumb:

Advents work just fine tubes. I drive mine with a HH Scott 299. More than ample power with plenty of headroom leftover.

This is my pair used in my vintage system.
