Pretty funny music video about Nikon vs. Canon. Musically OK, but a creative approach to the brand war!

The Video is NSFW/Kids ... due to Language Only

I found it researching a the S90, about to pull the trigger. I will have both.

Hey Nigel,

From what I have seen so far, all the video people shoot with their DSLR is pretty lame.  I haven't even begun to explore that capability with my new camera.  100+ shots and I still suck.  It's a good thing digital film is cheap!  Maybe some day I'll be able to sneak something passable into the picture of the day thread, but at this rate, it's going to be a long time.  Maybe I should shoot and post videos instead?  :P

Stepping it up a gear, have a look at this,
John I know what you mean, My first DSLR was a Canon d300, and I didnt get very far with that. The d700 was a very steep learning curve, but at least I am starting to get some great shots, especially in low light

My guess is that these new DSLRs which shoot video are so novel is that they now allow for using the lenses whose look we are so accustomed to seeing in movies.  I think it's mostly lens, and secondly response curve.  But hell, if you can get a yak in your shot the rest is gravy.

I am grateful that, as of yet, I don't want one myself, even though that's some lush looking footage. :)  I surely don't need another cool tool in search of content!

video's are harder to do IMO.  Especially with a rolling shutter DSLR. (at a professional level of quality)

With your kit lenses wind chaser, you'll have a hard time getting images to POP because of the speed of the lens.  You need low F numbers to get lots of depth of field.

Invest a little $ into an FA 50mm f1.4 and you'll probably never take it off the camera :P

Hey!

Whew!   They left my camera out.  :icon_lol:

Anyway, I do know a guy who beside shooting with Leica M3, 4X5 and Rollieflex system, his SLR system is Pentax. He now got one of the Pentax DLSR and still use the old Pentax lenses. He is a very good photographer and one hell of a B&W printer (I'm talking about old school B&W film and B&W paper) :D

Anyway, that's one crazy vid there. I see it got subtitled for other languages too.

 Take care,
Buddy :thumb:
