So... we have been on survival mode at the house with half the normal income coming in since the layoff.. so hence why there hasn't been many updates... I did get to work on these the past 2 days.. 1 of them is ready to primer and veneer minus the base and the other is not far behind..

here you can see all the gaps are finalized for the insert that will be veneered





you can see in the pic the font piece extends down to the stand/midbass enclosure



I showed that pic because you can see that I created a contour so that when I veneer the stand/midbass enclosure it will sink into it creating a more finished look









The seam from the top enclosure that will be painted and the stand/midbass enclosure has a perfect transition

While you are at it, make a baby Brontosaurus for the local playground! And you could name that speaker the Baby Brontosuarus.

Not sure how efficient you are at making those sculptures, but you could have a new career in Hollywood or working for a personal robotics firm perhaps.

to be honest.. I am extremely fast at fabrication.. I just need the income to support the time away.. I'm hoping to get acouple commission pieces soon so that I can finish the 2 demo pieces I'm working on for local art galleries.. Plus I have to make a set for Bill over at Bella and need to get a set ready for RMAF...

I'm hoping things will turn around in 2010

Sorry to hear about the hardships.  These times can be extremely rough, especially when there is a family involved.  I wish you nothing but love in the next year.

Thanks for posting an update on how things are coming along.  I was starting to wonder what was going on with these as you had been posting progress fairly frequently a while back. Hopefully things will look up for the business and work in the next year.  My last day was the 14th so I'm starting to get a little antsy about the next position as well.
