Kismets

Hi Odyssey Fans!

I am not sure if this is the right forum to post this, but I have a pair of Kismet Mono amps with all upgrades.  These are really great amplifiers.  I had listed them on Audiogon for $4800.  They were $4900 plus $1360 for upgrades in caps, chrome feet, and other upgrades.  These are in mint (as new) condition.  I am selling only because I bought tube monos and am not using these at this time.

I have pictures I can email you.  Send me a message if you interest.  I am located in the Bay Area in CA if you want to do a local pick up or listen.

Thanks, Terry

You might want to check out my post from 11/21, right here (the detail in the quoted material may or may not match what is in your post above):

FYI - I note there are pictures of a pair of Kismet monos for sale here (no affiliation with seller). Additionally, the person indicates his unit has the following: "special custom upgrades, caps, cables and chrome feet". FYI - what's sitting atop the rear of the amp in this picture? Maybe an Alan Maher Infinity CBF?

In a different thread, Golfugh chimed in on how upgrading from Extreme Mono SEs glass ceilings to Kismet monos (albeit in Stratos cases) sweetens the performance of the Odyssey mono amp performace. I'm wondering if someone could chime in on how the for-sale configured Kismets would match with Golgugh's Kismet-in-Stratos-case amps?

Also, the upgraded-Kismet-for-sale owner indicates his Kismet amps retail for $5,400; Klaus has pegged the stock Kismet mono's @ $4,900, with the Kismet mono power ratings between the Stratos and the Mono Extremes, i.e., "power ratings are between the Stratos and the Extremes. Pick a number.". It'd be helpful to have an understanding of what one could expect with the stock Kismets v. upgraded Kismets, for the difference in $. Besides, I just like reading about these amps.  As well as the new speakers.... And the phono preamp... aa

So, do you want to take a minute and opine regarding what was atop the rear of the amp in the one picture?

I very much like the small Quantum Noise Disruptors myself.  :thumb:  I use them over the transformers of my Butler Audio amps and find them much more effective than the replaced Shakti Stones. I still have a Stone over the transformer of my Sunfire processor but I'll replace that also with a Noise Disrupter if a deal presents itself.

Cheers,
