How was the actual storyline? Your reaction of "slow" hit home as this was an impression(fear) of mine from just seeing the commerials. I was hoping a strong storyline would make up for a few slow moments? Thanks. Cheers,Robin
(still patiently awaiting the followup to Ironman). Cheers,Robin

Downey Jr. was very good in the movie. I found him to be better than the movie itself but it kept my interest and I enjoyed his performance.
The rub I had with the movie, and this could have been the theater, was that it was so freaking loud. It was miserably loud in parts and yet the dialogue was still not exactly clear. I really dislike this trend in movies.
Maybe it was because I was tired when I went to see this movie, but I didn't enjoy it all that much. I thought the individual scenes were extremely well-acted, the look/cinematography was excellent...but overall the movie just seemed to move at a very awkward pace. The whole mystic/black-magic part of the film was not convincing to me, so it never felt like Holmes/Watson were ever in that much danger.
