Thanks again guys.  I just delivered and set them up for my sister, she was very pleased  :thumb:.  They sounded great with her older Sherwood AV reciever, no subwoofer required in her space, great design.

Best,
Ed

Those are beautiful.

Indeed it's pomelle Sapele. It's not as super thick in figure as some sapele can be, but it's up there. I think it's perfect because as the figureing starts to get too thick, it can detract from the overall design. (I build electric guitars, and work with figured exotics a bunch). Sapele is just gorgeous with an easy finish, and has the best chatoyance of almost any wood I've ever seen. The figure can literally look holographic right at your fingertips where you'd SWEAR that the surface cannot be smooth, yet it is.

I am finishing my LS9 Kit with Oakwood Premium SA Rosewood Veneer (nosebleed expensive), and would appreciate any input from someone who has trimmed the veneer to fit on the 90 degree corners where it butts together.  I know Danny's plans call for a 3/4" radius, but I do not feel I can "wrap" the veneer around a tight raidus with good results.  Want to do it right the first time.

I trim veneer with a flush trim router bit with bearing, anything not perfectly flush I finish with 320 grit paper.  Works excellent every time.  I will apply a strip of blue painters tape on the side where the bearing rides to help from marring the surface, also use very light pressure so the bearing doesnt ride to hard against the other surface helps prevent marring.  I've tried the utility knife thing several times and was never happy.
