Picked up a copy of the NY Times to read with my huevos revueltas this morning and saw that PBS will feature this, Patti Smith-Dream of Life, on Dec 30. It will coincide with footage of her doing her thing at The Bowery Ballroom in her early days. Edited down from 11 years of filming I read. She is quoted as saying she had to start a band cause of the state of affairs of rock and roll in the early 70's (she was reading her poetry at CBGB's at the time). I'm very glad she did. Horses was her first album (but if you've read this far, you know that already).
