sold: Mapletree 4A SE preamp $725 here, $750 Agon

Going back and forth on this.  I have started using the inline volume controls with great results but lose any switching capability.

This is a 3 piece set in red with the Cryo'd silver wire purple sheath umbilical.  I'd be in the $725 area here including extra tubes.

What is the interest level?

Pete:

I hope you won't mind but I just have to comment that this is one kick-butt little preamp.  It is dead quiet with a separate power supply utilizing a 6X5GT Rectifier and preamp that uses your choice of 6SN7 or 12SN7 tubes with the flick of a switch.  This little jewel is all about performance and it truly fits the category of being a giant killer - outperforming preamps costing much more.  Jump on this one if Pete pulls the trigger.

Pete,

Do you offer in-home auditions for those in your area?

Then the ring could be considered a gift rather than consideration for performance of a contract.

Come over and pick it up today.  I'm leaving 24th through 28th so you'd have time to play.

So this is on A'gon now?

This one is in Canada:  http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?preatube&1266761320&/Mapletree-Audio-4ASE-with-new-

That is a two-piece system, though.  Pete, or anyone, what is the difference in the two-piece and the three-piece, besides one more piece?

Pete's 3 piece system includes a switch box for adding and switching sources.
The 4a by itself looks to have a phono input and one other input.

If Pete had been interested in selling this a month ago I would have tried to work out a deal to swap his umbilical cord for a stock one.  Chris of BPT made one for me but you guys thinking about this preamp - those Revelation Cords that Pete is including sold for around $175.00.

Now up for sale.

Including two sets of tubes.

My favorite combo is the Westinghouse 6X5GT QT with Sylvania JAN CHS-6SN7W's.  I'll include RCA 12somethings (worn off) and a Philco 6X5GT.

Shipping is extra and I'll split the Paypal fee.
